The Green Academy at Lincoln High started when several students noted that what they learned in Economics class often overlapped with what they learned in Environmental Science and the Green Academy was born!

Waldorf Schools, San Francisco, CA
The Waldorf's curriculum allow students to learn about the sciences through hands-on exploration giving them a comprehensive
understanding of the scientific processes at work in the world. Required
community service work gives students the chance to learn through
direct engagement with their local community. Waldorf students develop a
well-rounded understanding of the world and their place in it. The school is a model for green design; the building itself will be
incorporated into the curriculum as an educational resource for
environmental studies.

Mission High School, located on the beautiful palm-lined boulevard of Dolores Street, is the oldest high school in SF, dedicated as it was in 1897. In fact, it’s the oldest comprehensive high school west of the Rockies.

PODER is a grassroots, environmental justice organization based in San Francisco’s Mission District. PODER’s mission is to organize with Mission residents to work on local solutions to issues facing low income communities and communities of color. PODER believes that the solutions to community problems depend on the active participation of all people in decision-making processes. Improvements to our neighborhood must be made through collective social action to bring about social, economic and environmental justice.
